Who We Are


Chebucto Wind Field Inc. is community owned and operated in the Halifax Regional Municipality. It is managed by a Board of Directors, who are elected by its shareholders at the Annual General Meeting. All operations are managed through the Board of Directors, with shareholders being asked to vote on major decisions.

The current board of directors is comprised of a group of professionals with experience in business, finance/accounting, economics, electrical engineering, consulting, biology, arts, and government.

Wayne Stobo ­‐ President and Chair of the Board
Wayne has been the Chair of the Chebucto board since 2005. He has a background of over 35 years in biological research and has authored over 130 scientific articles on biology and fisheries management. He holds a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Ontario and a Ph.D. from Dalhousie University, all in the field of animal ecology. Prior to retiring in 2007, he spent most of his scientific career in various research and management capacities at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography studying the population dynamics of finfish and seals for Fisheries and Oceans Canada.Wayne has been involved in environmental protection issues for most of his life. He was: a founding member of the Halifax Watershed Advisory Board and it’s chair for 13 years; a founding and active member of the Shubenacadie Watershed Environmental Protection Society; and member of numerous other environmental action and discussion groups. Wayne and his wife Nancy live in Waverley and generally enjoy the relaxed lifestyle of country living.

The Chebucto Wind Field Inc Director - Alan Cyr Alan Cyr – Director
Is currently a Senior Technical Specialist with Stantec Consulting, with over 25 years of experience related to the electric utility sector. At Stantec he works within the Power & Utilities group and deals with various projects and issues in a technical capacity.Al has worked on hundreds of energy projects throughout his career, many involving wind energy generation, transmission and distribution. Some specific aspects have been: the design of a 99MW Wind Farm; providing quality assurance reporting for wind farm construction; and providing technical and financial evaluations of wind Power Purchase Agreements. Alan lives in Halifax with his wife and two children and is a Member of the Dartmouth Yacht Club (former Rear and Vice Commodore).
The Chebucto Wind Field Inc. Director Kevin Reinhardt Kevin Reinhardt – Director
Kevin works in the Assurance and Advisory practice with Deloitte and is pursuing a Chartered Accounting Designation.  He has worked on a myriad of companies including public, private and Not-for-profit, with experience in financial statement preparation, finance and governance.  He began his career in 2007 in the banking and finance industry with the Bank of Canada, Canada’s central bank, as a Research Assistant (Economist).  He holds an honours BA in Economics (Mount Allison University) and a Masters of Development Economics (Dalhousie University).  Kevin lives in the Purcell’s Cove area and enjoys hiking and running in his spare time.

Dave brings over 40 years of business experience to the Chebucto Board. He was a career life insurance agent and financial planner with the London Life Insurance Company until his retirement in 1998. Additionally, he was a founding partner of Halifax’s Pro Cycle and Privateers Harley Davidson.Throughout his career he has been a member of a variety of boards including: the Children’s Aid Society; the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation; CAA Maritimes, acting as Chair from 2000 to 2002; CAA National from 2003 to 2011, acting as Chair from 2007 to 2009; and as Chair of the Board of Club Auto Roadside Services, from 2007 to 2009, a company that provides roadside assistance programs to more than twenty automobile manufacturers in Canada. Dave is a life-long car and motorcycle enthusiast and enjoys restoring vintage examples at home in Waverley, where he lives with his partner Carol. Between them they have four children and five grandchildren.
The Chebucto Wind Field Inc. Terry Norman Terry Norman ‐ Chair of Investment Committee
Terry brings over 35 years of business experience to the Chebucto Board. He has a Bachelor of Commerce from McGill University and a Master of Science in Business Administration from the University of British Columbia. He has worked and lived in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and Halifax. He co-founded two Halifax-based companies: Clear Picture Corporation and Unique Design Solutions. He is a Director of The Novus Consulting Group Limited where he provides management consulting services in corporate finance, business development and governance. He is also active in a volunteer capacity as Vice Chair of 211 Nova Scotia and a Director of Entrepreneurs’ Forum.

Todd, CMA, MBA is a senior level finance executive in industry. As a trained accountant, Todd’s 15 year career has mainly involved being the senior finance person within mid-­‐sized private enterprise. He currently also sits on the board of the Construction Association of Nova Scotia (CANS) and the North End Community Health Clinic.
The Chebucto Wind Field Inc. Director - Dave Aalders David Aalders – Vice President
Has over 20 years of experience in sales and merchandising with Scotsburn Dairy. David has acted on numerous boards and committees over the last decade including the Ecology Action Centre’s Urban Issues Committee and acting as Chair of the Chebucto West Community Health Board. Most recently he was the treasurer of New Armdale Westside housing co‐op in Spryfield from 2007-­‐2009. He is a student of several martial arts and holds a 1st degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do. David lives in Halifax with his two children.
Graham Steele 1 Graham Steele – Director
Graham Steele was a member of the Nova Scotia legislature from 2001 to 2013.  He was the Minister of Finance (2009-2012) and Minister of Economic & Rural Development and Tourism (2013). Graham can now be heard weekly on CBC television and radio, commenting on Nova Scotia politics.  He is also continuing his consulting work in international democratic development, and is working towards a graduate law degree at Dalhousie University. Before entering politics, Graham was a lawyer specializing in administrative and regulatory law.  He is a Rhodes Scholar and originally from Winnipeg.

Lindsay is a Marketing and Small Business Consultant in Halifax. She brings a passion for local business and a drive to grow our communities. At the Halifax Chamber of Commerce, Lindsay develops marketing solutions and works with clients to solve the business-to-business advertising and sponsorship challenges. At BackBurner Business Solutions she helps small businesses with their marketing needs and assists in their growth. Lindsay also contributes business articles to Local Connections Halifax magazine and is a frequent donor at Canadian Blood Services.
